Originally designed to accommodate fireside seating around british hearths, the barrel back chair evolved into myriad styles and roles that preserved its comfort. Restoration Hardware's reproduction of a 1940's french varietal had the gently curved barrel back of the original with clean sculpted lines simple oak legs and upholstery tacks outlining the chair's profile.
